The Athens Police Department is requesting your information pertaining to a series of criminal acts which have occurred within the City of Athens.
1. Theft - Athens County Emergency Medical Services October 26, 2014
During the early morning hours of October 26th, 2014 between 12:30 AM and 3:10 AM, an unknown subject forcibly entered the Athens County Emergency Medical Services building located at 564 W. Union St. Once inside, the individual(s) rifled through several different areas of the buildings, stealing personal belongings and tools.

During the early morning hours of October 26th, 2014 between 12:30 AM and 3:10 AM, an unknown subject forcibly entered the Athens County Emergency Medical Services building located at 564 W. Union St. Once inside, the individual(s) rifled through several different areas of the buildings, stealing personal belongings and tools.
2. Vehicle Thefts - West State Street Ball Fields
The next series of incidents all occurred at Jaycee Fields (W. State St. ball fields). The first incident occurred between October 22nd and November 4th where a storage shed was forcibly entered and a Kubota utility vehicle was stolen. The second incident occurred between November 8th and the 10th when the storage shed was again forcibly entered and a small four-wheeler was stolen. The final incident occurred on or about November 17th when this same storage shed was forcibly entered and a zero-turn lawnmower was stolen
The next series of incidents all occurred at Jaycee Fields (W. State St. ball fields). 3. Theft - Ketchum's Campground
The series of incidents have all occurred at Ketchum’s Campground, which is located at 28584 Rock Run Rd., Coolville. During these incidents on or about November 3rd, 2014, four separate campers were forcibly entered and contents were stolen. The contents stolen were electronics, jewelry, and rechargeable tools.

The series of incidents have all occurred at Ketchum’s Campground, which is located at 28584 Rock Run Rd., Coolville. During these incidents on or about November 3rd, 2014, four separate campers were forcibly entered and contents were stolen. The contents stolen were electronics, jewelry, and rechargeable tools.

The Athens Police Department is requesting your information pertaining to a series of criminal acts which have occurred within the City of Athens.
1. Assault - Domino's Pizza October 28, 2014
As of Nov 14, 2014 the two suspects in this incident have been identified. The Athens Police Department expresses appreciation for all the calls received regarding this incident. 2. Altercation / Shots Fired - Court Street October 26, 2014
During the early morning hours of October 26th, 2014 at approximately 2:00 AM, a large altercation erupted near 31 S. Court St involving black males. During the altercation, one of the black males pulled a handgun out and discharged a couple of shots. The group scattered and officers that were close to the altercation gave chase. The black male who discharged the firearm fled toward Voigt Hall and was subsequently lost in this area. The black male is described as in his 20s, 5’08 to 5’11, medium build, and was wearing blue jeans and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt.

This incident pertains to the theft of several pieces of commercial food preparation equipment from Appalachian Center for Economic Networks (ACEnet). ACEnet aids in the incubation and support of small businesses in Appalachia Ohio. This incident occurred between the afternoon of August 13, 2014 and the morning of August 14, 2014. The unknown suspect(s) illegally entered the business and removed three pieces of equipment: a Groen TDB 6-10, an Groen Ee-40, and a Hobart VCM 25. The total replacement costs for these items is over $20,000.

2. Dumpster Fires
During the early morning hours of September 1, 2014 at approximately 3:00am, the Athens Police and Fire departments responded to several intentionally set fires in the uptown area. There were three seperate fires ignited in trash dumpsters. These three fires were extinguished, resulting in minimal damage to property. However, there was a fourth fire where a mattress was set ablaze next to 1 S. Congress Street. This fire caused damage to the residential structure. Fortunately, it was extinguished quickly and no one was harmed.

your information pertaining to one serious criminal act which has occurred within
the City of Nelsonville.
Theft - Tammy's Country Kitchen
This incident occurred during the early morning hours of June 26th, 2014. At approximately 5:00 AM, two male suspects approached an exterior refrigerator at Tammy’s Country Kitchen, a business located at 240 Jefferson St. The suspects illegally entered the refrigerator and took a large amount of meat and other food products. Nelsonville Police arrived within minutes of the incident occurring and did not locate the two male suspects in the area.

Nelsonville Police arrived within minutes of the incident occurring and did not locate the two male suspects in the area.

an individual being sought in connection with a stabbing which occurred within

information pertaining to a series of criminal acts which have occurred within
both Athens County and the City of Athens.
2. Vehicle Thefts
These incidents pertain to a rash of vehicle and trailer thefts which have occurred inside the City and also in the County. There have been no less than four camper, utility, or enclosed trailers stolen from inside the City over the course of a couple months. Area law enforcement agencies also report having had various types of trailers stolen. Near the times of these of trailer thefts, the Athens Police Department has also had vehicles and vehicle parts stolen. The Athens County Sheriff’s Office handled an incident recently where a four-wheeler was stolen from the Fast Traxx motocross complex.

On this date and time, the Ohio University Communications Center received a call from the Brown County, Ohio Communications Center regarding a possible shooting on the Athens’s campus, specifically the East Green. The Ohio University Police Department, along with assistance from other local law enforcement agencies, conducted a thorough search of the area and did not find any evidence of a shooting.

The following six incidents have been listed by Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous as August 2014 Crimes of the Month.
The Athens Police Department is requesting your information pertaining to two serious criminal acts which have occurred within the City of Athens.

1. Residential Burglaries April 2014 - June 2014
The first incident is a series of over twenty residential burglaries that have occurred in the City of Athens from April 2014 through June 2014. The majority of these burglaries have occurred in the student housing areas of the city, which is in close proximity to the uptown area. However, the perpetrators do seem to be branching out from the uptown area to more single family homes in residential neighborhoods. The perpetrators have stolen a variety of items, including but not limited to: money; electronic equipment; and personal belongings. There is a good possibility that several different individuals/groups are responsible for these crimes. Anyone who has information concerning these burglaries is asked to provide as much detail as possible, i.e. location(s), method of entry, and item(s) stolen, to assist in isolating who is responsible for each incident.

During the aforementioned time frame, unknown person(s) stole a 29’ Forest River Rookwood Roo travel trailer from the parking lot of 211 Columbus Rd. The travel trailer is white with beige accents and was displaying Ohio registration plate STG7629.
The next incident occurred between the late afternoon hours on June 13, 2014 and the early morning hours on June 15, 2014. During the aforementioned time frame, unknown person(s) stole a 29’ Forest River Rookwood Roo travel trailer from the parking lot of 211 Columbus Rd. The first request pertains to information on the whereabouts of Ronald Leroy Hogue, who has several active warrants for his arrest and could be involved in other criminal acts currently under investigation. Mr. Hogue is being sought for failing to appear for a hearing related to an original charge of Tampering with Evidence and Theft. Mr. Hogue has also failed to appear for additional charges of Theft and Criminal Trespass. Information requested pertaining to Mr. Hogue are
- his current whereabouts,
- any vehicle in which he may be traveling - including the license plate number,
- any locations he is known to frequent, and
- the names of persons with whom he is associating.

The majority of these burglaries have occurred in the student housing areas of the city, which is in close proximity to the uptown area. However, the perpetrators do seem to be branching out from the uptown area to more single family homes in residential neighborhoods. The perpetrators have stolen a variety of items, including but not limited to: money; electronic equipment; and personal belongings. There is a good possibility that several different individuals/groups are responsible for these crimes. Anyone who has information concerning these burglaries is asked to provide as much detail as possible, i.e. location(s), method of entry, and item(s) stolen, to assist in isolating who is responsible for each incident.

During this time frame, an unknown black male passed a total of five counterfeit $20.00 bills at The Pigskin Sports Bar and Grill. Additional description of the black male is that he is 6’05” tall and had a thin build. ***The following picture shows the suspect in the establishment holding a large amount of $20.00 bills.

The Athens Police Department is requesting your information pertaining to several separate criminal acts which occurred within the City of Athens.

1. Missing Person - Samuel J. Wiater
The first incident occurred during the evening hours of March 13, 2014. On the next day at approximately 12:40 AM, the mother of Samuel J. Wiater reported to the Athens Police Department her son was endangered and now missing. Based on conversations between Samuel and his girlfriend and Samuel and his mother, there was a suspicion that he (Samuel) was going to commit suicide in the Hocking River. Several hours had already passed between the conversations and Samuel being reported as missing. After police were advised of the situation, officers immediately began search efforts to locate Samuel, unfortunately with no success. As of the date of this announcement, March 27, 2014, thirteen days after the initial complaint was filed, no one has had any personal contact with Samuel.

On this date at approximately 2:50 AM, members of the Athens Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to an active fire at 929 E. State St (Wal-Mart). The flames were quickly extinguished but there was still moderate damage to the building and extensive damage to the contents/merchandise. A white male subject in his early to mid-twenties, approximately 5’10” tall and weighing 160 #, was observed leaving the area of the fire just after it ignited.

On this date at approximately 3:20 AM, members of the Athens Police Department and Athens Fire Department were dispatched to 68 Stewart St on an active structure fire. The blaze was quickly extinguished by fire fighters but the structure still suffered considerable damage. The fire is suspicious in nature and believed to have been intentionally set. This incident occurred on November 18, 2013 at approximately 5:25 AM. The resident of 122 S. Green Dr (Fenzel House), Room 230 advised she awoke to an unknown white male subject standing in her room, leaning over her desk. The male subject stole an item and then fled the area. The male is described as 5’07” to 5’10”, thin to average build, reddish beard, and was wearing a black winter hat and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt. (Composite of suspect attached)

The following incidents have been listed by Athens County Crime Solvers Anonymous as January 2014 Crimes of the Month. In each case the reporting agency is also the source of the information.
The Athens Police Department is requesting information pertaining to two separate criminal acts that occurred within the City of Athens.
The Ohio University Police Department is requesting information pertaining to one criminal act that occurred on the campus of Ohio University.
This incident occurred at around 5:25 a.m., Nov. 18. The resident of 122 S. Green Dr. (Fenzel House), Room 230, advised she awoke to an unknown white male standing in her room, leaning over her desk. The male subject stole an item and then fled the area. The male was described as 5'07" to 5'10", thin to average build, reddish beard, and was wearing a black winter hat and a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.
The Athens County Sheriff's Office is requesting information pertaining to one criminal act.
This incident occurred on Nov. 13, 2013 at approximately 11:20 p.m. The residents of 18748 Taylor Ridge Road were surprised when at least two masked men forcibly entered the residence. One resident was struck in the head several times, while the other was shot with a non-lethal weapon. The suspects took a large amount of cash, firearms and cell phones before fleeing the scene. The injuries suffered by one of the residents did require medical attention.

The Athens Police Department is requesting information pertaining to two separate criminal acts that occurred within the City of Athens.
- The first incident occurred between 3 p.m., Nov. 20, and 3:30 p.m., Nov. 21. Upon returning home, the resident of 50 Walker St. noticed that her basement entrance door had been pried on. Upon closer inspection of the interior of the residence, she determined items had been tampered with, and jewelry and money were missing. During the time the resident was away, a neighbor noticed a red Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the driveway.
- The second incident occurred during the early morning hours of Nov. 26. On this date at approximately 2:50 a.m., members of the Athens Police and Fire departments were dispatched to an active fire at 929 E. State St. (Walmart store). The flames were quickly extinguished but there was still moderate damage to the building and extensive damage to the contents/merchandise. A white male in his early to mid-20s, approximately 5'10" tall and weighing 160 pounds, was observed leaving the area of the fire just after it ignited.
