CASE #21
The Athens County Sheriff’s Office wants information regarding the breaking and entering of a local business. All-Power Equipment, located onUnited Lane, just west of Athens on US Route 50, was broken into during the late evening hours of Tuesday April 21st, and the early morning hours of Wednesday April 22nd, 2009. Taken during the break-in were numerous Stihl chainsaws.
The weekend prior to the break-in, April 18th through April 20th, two tractors were taken from All-Power Equipment. One of the tractors was recovered while a Kubota Model B-2620HSD still remains unaccounted for.The Athens County Sheriff’s Office is asking for your information tractor.

During the first week of June, several burglaries were reported to the Athens City Police. These burglaries occurred on the west side of Athens and resulted in the theft of two televisions, one a flatscreen, and a McIntosh Powerbook.Two burglaries were on West Washington St. while the other was on Pratt St. The Athens City Police are seeking information regarding these burglaries.

The Athens City Police are seeking your information regarding the shooting of a college student on Saturday evening, May 16th, 2009 at approximately 10:30 p.m. The victim was walking with friends on Mill St. when they walked in front of a new model, black, Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection of N. College St. As the pick-up truck passed, the passenger leaned out of the window with what was described as a black; CO2 operated BB gun and shot three times at the group. The victim, who was struck in the back of the head, was knocked to the ground and later treated at O’Bleness Hospital for the wound to his head. The occupants of the truck were described as white males, between the ages of 18 and 22. The truck was last seen going outbound on E. State St .

The Athens County Sheriff’s Office wants your information regarding the theft of a bulldozer. During the last part of March 2009, a yellow, 1978 Case D450 bulldozer was stolen from a farm on Dutch Creek Road in Athens Township. Tracks in the mud indicated that the bulldozer had been moved, prior to being loaded up and removed from the area.

AroundMarch 30, 2009 a 1978 Case D450 dozer was stolen from a family farm off of Cutch Creek Road in Canaan Township.The dozer's color is Case Orange/Yellow. This has been quite a loss to this family as it was the family’s only piece of equipment which they had to maintain the farm.If you have any information on this 1978 Case D450 Dozer please call. The suspect struck the owner in the mouth, knocking her to the ground and took a bank bag with money.

Ohio University Police are seeking your information regarding a sexual assault that occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday morning March 18 th, 2009. The survivor reported that she was walking on E. Union St. near OldBaker Center when she was grabbed from behind and forced into an alleyway between Pilcher House and Old Baker Center. The suspect, described as a white male with short hair, approximately 5’06” tall wearing a maroon fitted baseball cap (on backwards) and a dark colored short sleeve shirt, then held the survivor against a wall, threatened her with a knife and raped her. The suspect then fled on foot towards the rear of the city parking garage.

The Nelsonville Police Department wants your information regarding the strong-armed robbery of individual that occurred in May of 2003. The victim stated that as he left the Mine Tavern, he was followed by a group of young white males, who attacked him from behind and knocked him to the ground. Once on the ground, the victim stated that his wallet was taken from him and the suspects fled the area. One of the suspects was described as having light, sandy brown hair, a mustache and a degree of a tan.

The Ohio University Police Department wants your information regarding vandalism to Ohio University property. On December 14th and 17th, 2008, unknown persons vandalized the several buildings on campus and the scoreboard at Peden Stadium by using what is believed to have been paint bombs or paint contained inside of balloons. These paint bombs were then believed to have been launched in an unknown way, striking the buildings and scoreboard.

The Ohio University Police are also seeking information regarding the theft of a gray 1994 Toyota Camry from the parking lot of Baker Center. The Toyotawould have been taken during the late evening hours of December 13th or the early morning hours of December 14th, 2008. The Camry was discovered onAlderman Rd., wrecked and burning at 3:10 a.m. on the morning of the 14th.

Between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., unknown persons entered an unlocked apartment at the Palmer Place Apartments and removed a large screen television, several games and a remote control. The unlocked apartment was on the Palmer St. side of the complex and the suspect is believed to have been on foot.

OnDecember 14th, 2008, a white male entered the pawn shop and removed a compound bow from over top of the counter and left the store without paying for it. This same white male is suspected of being involved in the theft of another compound bow from the store during this same time period. The suspect is described as being approximately 5’10” to 6’00”, 220 pounds with brown hair and a beard and mustache. During the December 14th, theft, the suspect was wearing a bright red jacket.

The Athens City Police are also seeking your information regarding the “strong-armed” robbery of a female while she was parked at the rear of Larry’s Dawghouse at 410 W. Union St. The victim states that she was sitting in her van, when an unknown white male approached her and asked for a quarter to use the pay phone. The victim stated that when she got her purse, the suspect grabbed her purse from inside the van and fled on foot with it. The suspect got into a newer model yellow Ford Mustang that was being driven by a white female and the vehicle went outbound onW. Union St. It is not known which direction the vehicle went at the intersection of State Route 682.
The victim described both suspects as being white and in their early to mid twenties. The male was approximately 5’10”, weighing approximately 155 pounds and had blonde hair. Other than her age, the only other description of the female was that she had dark hair.
